PS5 Launches Soon In India
Globally, the Sony PS5 has already been launched, except in some countries which includes India. While India is one of the biggest markets for the global tech world, it is relatively not the same for gaming and consoles.
This has been proved time and again, and most recently with the Sony PS5 launch. While at the global event, the company announced that the gaming device would launch on November 19. But, Sony India failed to appease the queries of people and reverted with the same reply.
And it is quite clear to say that in India there will not be an imminent launch. Not for December, not for January 2021.
Sony only settled the PS5 trademark case in India.

PS5 launch in India
The Sony India website, controlled by the EMEA team that is based out of Europe, had updated the website on November 19 being the launch date three times. Only that it was even quicker to remove the listings as Sony India stated that there was no concrete date on when the launch will take place.
Initially, it was believed that the source of the delay might have been a trademark-related problem that arose in India. The issue emerged when, back on October 29, Hitesh Aswani, a resident of Delhi, applied for a trademark on the PS5 name. Sony, for its part, filed a trademark this year on February 6.
Nevertheless, after Aswani is allegedly withdrawn his application for the PS5 trademark after Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc opposed it, Sony India managed to close the case.
The new order now reads, ‘Proceedings pursuant to Section 21 of the Trade Mark Act 1999 were brought against the registration of the mark applied for by the above-mentioned applicant (Hitesh Aswani) by the above-mentioned opponent (Sony) and, whereas the applicant withdrew the application vide their letter of 12/10/2020.’
The next problem came to the fore when several retailers announced pre-orders for PS5 units. However, though some new reports have taken flight on the web suggesting that the console will now be released in January 2021, the organization quickly warned against them.
Again, Sony India answered these rumours, using terms that were monotonously close to the earlier instances.
The company said to a question by The Mako Reactor, “Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has not yet announced a PS5 launch date in India,” a Sony spokesperson stated via email to us.
Several retailers received informal information from their outlets suggesting the console’s arrival in January 2021. But these are not obvious, and if the experience has shown us little, then there is no confidence in being right with informal knowledge.
What we do know from the tweet above, of course, is that Sony is still very buoyant about consumer feedback at a global level. And, because of the unprecedented demand for the console, the firm has said it will add more PS5 inventory before the end of 2020.
While Sony has not shared the exact number of consoles sold to date, it let us know via social media that PS5 was a record launch.
Which now makes us believe that once Sony succeeds in improving its inventory needed to satisfy global demand in countries where it was released last month, including North America, Europe and West Asia, the console could land in India. In India, the game console is priced at 49,990, and the digital version is priced at 39,990.
