Google to use side traditional fingerprint sensor in its pixel phones?
The IANS conference held on 16th October in San Francisco had some huge announcements.
The tech giant Google also made some announcements related to Pixel tablets and pixel foldable phones.
Google said that the upcoming Pixel tablet and Pixel foldable phones will have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
In Google Pixel 6 series, the tech giant made a major change by shifting the fingerprint sensor to the front from the back of the phone.
This change made the customer unhappy and they were complaining about it.
In the next series, Pixel 7 onwards Google improved the sensor and added the feature of face unlock.
Even after making the improvements in the Pixel 7 series, Google decided to return to its traditional fingerprint sensor in the upcoming Pixel foldable notepad and Pixel tablet.
According to the post on 9to5 google, this change took place to make sure that the foldable pixel notepad uses fingerprint without taking into consideration the folding factor of the phone.
9to5google further added that Google did testing for “X-aligned devices.”
X-aligned devices are a test to see how the fingerprint sensor on top or the bottom edge will work.
“We believe this code is intended to cover the upcoming Pixel Tablet, presumably placing its sensor on the upper power/lock button, similar to the Pixel Slate,” 9to5Google added.
