Qualcomm has announced its all-new and very powerful chipset – Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. This new chip is a successor to Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and was unveiled at an event in China. It supports most of the same features as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, just at a lower price which means that this latest chip will be offering premium features for mid-range smartphones.

At the launch event, Christopher Patrick, senior VP and general manager, of mobile handsets, at Qualcomm Technologies said in a statement, “Snapdragon is synonymous with premium mobile experiences. Today’s launch of the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 illustrates our ability to bring some of the most in-demand flagship features to our Snapdragon 7 series making them accessible to more people .”

Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 will hopefully be offering some great features with these improvements to the mid-range phones. Though it is expected that sooner the devices will be launched that will be powered by this new chipset. We still don’t have a clear idea about the devices but Qualcomm did reveal that this SoC will be adopted by key OEM brands including Redmi and Realme so there are high chances that the first devices to be powered by Snapdragon 7+Gen 2 could be a Redmi or Realme smartphone.
