After 10 years , iPhone 5s receives a new update iOS 12.5.7
If you are using an older version of Apple smartphone , and are not able to enjoy the latest releases then Apple has come with a relief for it’s customers. Apple has launched iOS 12.5.7 on January 24 , 2023.
According to AppleInsider , this new update is for the old users who are still using older devices and operating systems and address similar bugs and security patches available in recent iOS 16.3 and macOS Ventura releases.
iPhone 5s which launched in September 2012 , is the oldest smartphone supported by iOS 12.5.7 . Users with automatic updates enabled won’t have to do anything and for those who need to update manually can do via Settings app as soon as possible since the update addresses known security issues that could put user at risk. iPhone 5s has received this update after 10 years.
How to download & install iOS 12.5.7 update?
First you need to backup iPhone to iCloud . Then,
- Open “settings” app on iPhone
- Go to “general”
- Choose “ Software update”
- Select “ Download & install” when iOS 12.5.7 shows as available.
