Google rebrands it’s chatbot Bard as Gemini, announced paid tier for users

Google has rebranded its artificial intelligence chatbot Bard as Gemini. Along with this announcement, the company has also announced the paid tier for the users. Google announced Bard almost a year ago to compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Earlier the Bard was based on LLM known as PaLM 2 but with the introduction of Gemini, Bard transitioned to Gemini Pro from PaLM 2.

So simply now the LLM core name and service name are the same and that is Gemini. After the announcement of the Bard, ChatGPT’s rival people were using it through its site, though accessing it from the phone was not as good as on a laptop or desktop. Considering this in mind Google launched a Gemini Android App.

As we earlier mentioned Gemini is based on Gemini Pro LLM though Gemini Ultra is more advanced than this. The Ultra model needs to be paid for. Gemini Advanced is the paid version of the chatbot earlier known as Bard. The Gemini Advanced is based on Gemini Ultra 1.0 and can be considered by those who want it to perform more complex and difficult tasks. As the Gemini Advanced is said to be able to handle longer, complex prompts.

Google is eager to make people experience the power of its new service as it is offering two months free for those who want to try Gemini Advanced. It is available in English in over 150 countries and territories. Gemini Advanced is available as part of the new Google One AI Premium Plan for $19.99/month. This monthly fee also gets you the 2TB of storage and all other perks that you get with the 2TB Google One Premium plan.
