Samsung’s new enhanced Mobile Hotspot features makes it easy to monitor, control and restrict data sharing over hotspot

Mobile Hotspots are one of the features that we are all acquainted with and use often to share the mobile data connection with friends and family devices. While sharing the internet over a hotspot, data exhaustion always remains a concern. And Samsung seems to have brought a proper solution to this concern. Samsung has enhanced the Samsung Mobile Hotspot with features that will help

• Monitor and control the shared data.
• Restrict some users from accessing the shared data.

Time limit

A Data Dashboard lets you monitor the daily, weekly, and monthly data consumption by mobile hotspot. You will also be able to set how long any device can stay connected to a hotspot. It will make it easy for you to save the data for meetings or nighttime shows. Parents will be able to reduce the screen time of kids by simply setting a time limit.

Data limit

Moreover, if you think setting time limits won’t be helpful enough, data limits are also there to help you. You will be able to set the data limit for every individual connected device thus making it easy to save some data. If you think a device is drawing data at a higher rate, you can simply pause the data sharing for such a device using settings.

One-time password for guest

It happens sometimes that as soon as you open the hotspot, those devices that were earlier connected to your device’s hotspot start drawing the data. And that leaves you with less or no data at the end. So with Samsung’s new hotspot features, you will be able to share One-time password with the guests to allow them to use your Mobile Hotspot temporarily. The next time that guest will try to reconnect with your hotspot, won’t be allowed to connect.
