Whatsapp introduces three new security features to make platform more safe and secure than ever before

Whatsapp’s new security feature is going to make the platform more secure than ever before. These new features include Account Protect, Device Verification, and Automatic Security Codes. These features will protect your account from malware attacks, unauthorized access, and secure encrypted conversations.

Account Protect

This feature helps users to keep track of unauthorized attempts to move their account to a new device. As soon as someone tries to move your WhatsApp account to another phone you will get a notification asking if the “Someone tried to move- Allow or Do not allow”. This secures your account and makes it hard for the breachers to act.

Device Verification

It has been seen that malware affects the mobile in such a way that it uses advanced account takeover attacks that send messages without the user’s knowledge or permission. To fight this issue Whatsapp has brought Device Verification which blocks the attacker’s connection, allowing victims to use their account without any fear of malware attack.

Automatic Security Codes

You must have read one line on Whatsapp which is “end to end encrypted” which means no one other than two people chatting on WhatsApp can read their conversation, not even WhatsApp. To trust this “ends” of the conversation have the feature to verify the other’s encryption keys’ validity and authenticity. But either it takes the user to scan the QR or verify through 60 digit code which is quite cumbersome.

Now it has become easy to verify a secure connection without the need for this long code or QR. The new “Key Transparency” feature will enable users to verify if the connection is secure. As soon as you click on the encryption tab, you will get to know right away that your conversation is secured.
