AMRUT 2.0 aspires to cover sewerage/septage control and offer water delivery through functional taps to every residence in statutory towns. The Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation 2.0 (AMRUT 2.0) programme was introduced on October 1, 2021, and it will run for a total of 05 years, from the fiscal years 2021–22 to 2025–26. AMRUT 2.0 is intended to give universal coverage of water supply through functional taps to all households in all of the country’s statutory towns and coverage of sewerage/septage management in 500 cities covered by the AMRUT scheme’s initial phase.
