A Samsung Galaxy S21 User Complaints that the Google App Started Consuming More Battery Since the One UI 5.1 Update
A user of the Samsung Galaxy S21 smartphone took to the Reddit platform to report an issue he has been facing after the latest One UI 5.1 update. The Galaxy S21 user says that the Google app on his device is consuming more battery than any of the other applications on his smartphone.
Let’s look more into it.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Faces Battery Issues After the One UI 5.1 Update
Ever since the One UI 5.1 update, the Google App in the Samsung Galaxy S21 has been consuming more battery life, reports a user on the Reddit platform. The user had also tried to put the app on deep sleep and took away all the permissions the app has which as mentioned by the user, should have fixed the issue. But still, the app went on to consume more battery life than other applications.
The user also mentioned that the device showed hours of background usage which indicates at how much the app would have consumed from the total battery life of the device.
The problem was later fixed after the user uninstalled all the updates of the Google app. At first, the app showed a total of 7% battery consumption before uninstalling the updates and now the app doesn’t consume much of the battery and is nowhere to be seen on the list of applications
Replying to his post, some of the other Samsung Galaxy S21 users had also joined him to report the same issue, making this a common issue. It is still in doubts whether the problem was with the Google app or with the One UI 5.1 update(as many reported the issue after the One UI 5.1 update).
The issue should be addressed as soon as possible before it creates anymore inconveniences for the smartphone users.
