Check out all the new features included in the new iOS 16.1 update for your Apple device

Apple announced that iOS 16.1, which will contain new features like “Live Activities” and “Clean Energy Charging,” would be launched soon. Along with other enhancements, the update provides easier photo sharing, a more cheap way to utilize Apple Fitness Plus, and other features.

Dynamic Island Lock Screen with Live Activities

The lock screen and Dynamic Island on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are enhanced with Live Activities. Thanks to Live Activities, notifications from third-party apps for things like sporting events and flights will appear on your Dynamic Island and lock screen.

Updated battery display

Since the iPhone XR and up to the most recent models, the battery percentage may now be seen in the battery meter indicator. To make the battery icon easier to read, the typography has also been significantly increased.

Improved user interface for snapshot editing software

When you modify a screenshot using the editing menu, the delete, save, and copy options are now displayed at the top of your screen in a smaller, less intrusive menu. Previously, these options could be found near the bottom of the iPhone’s display.

Apple Fitness Plus with or without Apple Watch

Thanks to iOS 16.1, you can now use Apple Fitness Plus without an Apple Watch. If you have an iPhone 8 or later, you may immediately check in on your fitness goals and advancement from your phone.

Share photo library on iCloud

Sharing photos with your friends after a night out could be a pain. However, iCloud Shared Photo Library makes it simple to send photos and videos to up to five more individuals.
The shared photo library can be added to, edited, and deleted from by anybody who has access to it.

You can add pictures and upload them directly from your iPhone’s camera when you are near other individuals who have access to the library.

You cannot simultaneously access two shared libraries, but if you move photos from your library to the shared library, they are not duplicated and can only be found there.

Setting the charging to clean energy

A new Clean Energy Charging toggle is now present in the Settings’ Battery section. The setting on your iPhone’s charger could help you leave less of a carbon impact.

When Clean Energy Charging is turned on, your iPhone will only charge when lower carbon emission electricity is available. By going to Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging and tapping the toggle next to Clean Energy Charging, you may choose to turn off this feature. It appears that this setting is turned on by default.

Other than that, your reader controls will be automatically hidden when you open Apple Books and begin reading books on your iPhone. Apple also made a few fixes to issues. These updates fix issues like deleted chats appearing in Messages, certain Dynamic Island content not appearing when using Reachability, and CarPlay not connecting while using a VPN app.
