Xiaomi finally launched MIUI 14 on December 11th. The launch was officially dated for December 1st but with the unfortunate death of the President, the launch was delayed.
MIUI is Xiaomi’s latest custom Android skin that is based on Android 13. The Android update was unveiled alongside the new Xiaomi 13 Series. The new software comes with a lot of new updates and changes. The Chinese firm says MIUI 14 has a reduced firmware size compared to MIUI 13 and it arrives with an enhanced system architecture, for better performance and efficiency.

With the latest MIUI 14, the company has made changes to the icons and the overall UI. The icon size can be adjusted and there are new widget formats and home screen folders. The software brings new pet and plant widgets.
Talking about software, MIUI 14 comes with a new MIUI photon engine, which runs on the Android kernel. The system memory footprints have been reduced and now there are only eight apps that cannot be uninstalled.
The company has claimed that MIUI 14 is much smaller in size when compared to MIUI 13 which is by far the biggest change the company has made. The total size of the firmware is just 13.09GB, which is very less compared to the previous versions of MIUI. The software also brings new notification management options along with improvements in privacy.
MIUI 14 allows seamless connectivity with other ecosystem products. The Xiaomi Magic center, a platform that lets you manage your Xiaomi ecosystem products, has also been revamped and now offers improved interconnection speed between devices.
