First internal test build of OneUI 8, based on Android 16, for Galaxy S25 series has been spotted

While we’re still waiting to learn when Samsung will release the stable OneUI 7 update for its older Galaxy smartphones, the newly launched Galaxy S25 Series – which comes with OneUI 7 out of the box – is about to get an exciting surprise.

Today, tipster Tarun Vats spotted an internal test build of OneUI 8 for the Galaxy S25 Series on the servers. He shared that the new build numbers for the Galaxy S25 Ultra variant are S938BXXU1BYC1, S938BOXM1BYC1, and S938BXXU1BYC1.

This development isn’t entirely unexpected. Earlier, tipster Ice Universe hinted that Samsung might roll out OneUI 8, based on Android 16, earlier than anticipated and confirmed that there won’t be any OneUI 7.1 or OneUI 7.1.1 updates. With Google expected to launch Android 16 in the coming months, this new internal test build for the Galaxy S25 Ultra suggests that Samsung could indeed introduce Android 16 early – at least for its latest models currently running OneUI 7 on Android 15.
