HarmonyOS Next Launching On 22nd October In China: Huawei Mate 70 Series Tipped To Arrive With New AI Gestures
Various details regarding the upcoming HarmonyOS Next have been revealed online while it was rumored that this custom skin will be unveiled in Q4 2024. The company did not reveal the actual launch date but it did release the official upgrade plan for HarmonyOS Next. Apart from this, it was also revealed that this latest software upgrade will replace Windows in upcoming Huawei PCs.
Huawei has now officially confirmed that HarmonyOS Next will launch on 22nd October in the Chinese market.
Reportedly this custom skin will be abandoning the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and support for Android apps. It is said to support in-house code and apps. It uses a self-developed microkernel OS based on OpenHarmony open-source core. It is expected to offer a seamless unified architecture. Detailed information regarding this upgrade will be known after the official launch.
Other than this, Huawei is also currently rumored to be working on the Mate 70 series which is expected to launch soon in China. As per a Weibo tipster, this upcoming series is expected to use an upgraded AI sensing chip to enhance existing gestures.
This means that apart from Air gestures that were introduced with Mate 30 Pro and is constantly being upgraded, users will also get to see more new motion-based features to make users work easy and enhance their overall experience.
This AI sensing chip that is tipped to arrive with the smartphone series is expected to track and identify motions or signals made by user’s hand which will then be recognized by the device to fulfill the desired command. These sensors are further said to be combined with 3D depth-sensing lenses, infrared technology as well as machine learning to provide accurate results in real-time.
Huawei Mate 70 series is also expected to be powered by a new Kirin 9100 chipset. In the coming days, we may come across some more details related to this upcoming smartphone series.
