Huawei unveil the much anticipated HarmonyOS NEXT Galaxy Version at HarmonyOS ecosystem development event
Huawei has finally launched its most anticipated HarmonyOS NEXT Galaxy Version at the HarmonyOS ecosystem development event. The company also opened the developer preview program of this software for developers. Its commercial release is scheduled for Q4 2024. As per the CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group- Yu Chengdong, it took the company around 10 years to build an independent OS.
The OS employs the self-developed Harmony kernel eliminating any dependence on Linux Kernapl or ASOP.
As per the report, the HarmonyOS NEXT Galaxy version will aim to deliver six native experiences: native refinement, native applications, native smoothness, native security, native intelligence, and native interconnection.
Currently there are more than 200 HarmonyOS native applications under development. For developers, the Huawei HarmonyOS NEXT Developer Preview website offers developers comprehensive hardware and software full-stack online services.
The operating system based on HarmonyOS includes the Pangu AI model, MindSpore AI Framework, DevEco Studio/DevEco Testing integrated development environment, HarmonyOS Design design system, ArkUI/ArkUI-X programming framework, Ark Compiler/Bisheng Compiler/Ark Runtime compiler & runtime, ArkTS/Cangjie programming language, and EROFS/HMDFS distributed file system.
Huawei has said that it will work with partners such as enterprises, universities, and institutions to train more than 100,000+ developers every month.
