iOS and iPadOS 17.2 Beta 3 for Developers

The latest beta 3 version of iOS and iPadOS 17.2 is an upgraded version of the previous beta versions and brings a new camera feature along with many improvements. Do note that the beta 3 version also still has a lot of issues in it, unlike the stable versions.

Firstly about the new feature, users of the iPhone 15 Pro device will be able to capture spatial videos. In the Photos app on Apple’s Vision Pro, they will also be able to view them in 3D. To enable spatial video capture, users will just have to go to the device’s “Settings”, select “Camera”, and then go to “Formats”. For select AVCaptureDeviceFormats, depth support has been added as well.

Now regarding the improvements or resolved issues, the AVCaptureEventInteraction unresponsiveness to the Action button in Apple Music has been fixed. In the new iMessage Contact Key Verification, the issues like the verification check mark not showing up in the Messages app even after verifying a contact and the error in the Turned Off transcript will both be fixed too.

In the Journal app, the issue that caused Journaling Suggestions notifications to not trigger after setting a schedule for notifications will be fixed. The issue causing duplicate journaling suggestions will be fixed, as well as the issue that prevented Journaling Suggestions do not get populated.

Many issues in StoreKit and an issue affecting Swift Charts have also been fixed with the third developer beta version of iOS and iPadOS 17.2.
