One UI 7 Global Roll-Out Begun, Focusing More on Widgets

Samsung has officially begun its One UI 7 global roll-out from the 7th of April 2025 (yesterday) as revealed earlier and from what has been shared, optimized widget experience and an updated set of One UI 7 widgets are part of the update.

Android developers are offered a prime opportunity with this update, enabling them to enhance app experience with a widget. More visibility, better user engagement, increased conversations, and higher chance of retention are listed as key highlights. Also, with Google Play’s widget discovery features such as Dedicated Widgets Search Filter, New Widget Badges on App Detail Pages, and Curated Widgets Editorial Page, it can be made more discoverable. Quality Tiers, Canonical Layouts with Figma Widget Design Kit, and Jetpack Glance are few other tools that can be accessed.
