Moto G42 gets its due December 2024 security patch update in India
Motorola has rolled out a new security patch update for its budget smartphone, the Moto G42, which was launched in India in 2022. The update, carrying the build number T2SES33.73-23-2-12 based on Android 13, brings the December 2024 Android security patch to Indian users.
The timing of this update demonstrates Motorola’s commitment to providing regular security maintenance, as the device’s previous update was released in September 2024. The company plans to continue supporting the device with updates through 2025, though there remains uncertainty about whether the Moto G42 was initially promised one or two major OS upgrades during its lifecycle.
While this latest update focuses solely on security improvements and doesn’t introduce any new features, it represents Motorola’s ongoing effort to maintain consistent update schedules for its smartphone lineup, including devices in the budget segment.
