Nothing Officially Rolls Out NothingOS 2.5.6 Update For Phone (2a): Integrates New Features, Improvements And Bug Fixes
Nothing has recently launched a new color option for Nothing Phone (2a) and today the company has rolled out a major upgrade for this device that includes latest security patch, bug fixes, new features, and much more.

Nothing Phone (2a): New Update
The company is rolling out the NothingOS 2.5.6 update for Phone (2a). This update integrates the latest May 2024 Android Security Patch to the device.

New features
- New Option in Settings to hide/show navigation bar.
- New option in Settings to enable notifications from third-party apps during calls
- Added a new interaction that gives access to shortcut menus by long-pressing widgets on the home screen
Improvements
- More accurate HDR detection in the camera app
- Smoother transition when cold starting the camera app, moving from Setup Wizard, and pulling down the status bar
- Optimized the audio quality for USB earphones
- Improved charging efficiency of certain chargers
- Optimized the device temperature management algorithm in games
- Improved the animation when exiting third-party music apps to the Media Player Widget.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a problem where the “No SIM card” prompt did not show when booting for the first time without a SIM card
- Resolved a loading time issue of icons when unlocking and entering the home screen after rebooting
- Resolved an issue where Android Auto was not working on specific car models
- Removed screen flickering when adjusting display color temperature and switching color modes
- Resolved a problem causing the adding of widgets to the lock screen to fail after changing the font display size.
Nothing Phone (2a) users can go to Settings> System> System update to install this update on their devices.
