OnePlus 13R gets OxygenOS 15.0.0.701 update in India: new widget controls, home screen tweaks, and March 2025 security patch

OnePlus has begun rolling out the OxygenOS 15.0.0.701 update for the OnePlus 13R in India. The update, arriving in batches under build number CPH2691_15.0.0.701(EX01), brings several useful additions and refinements aimed at improving the user experience across the board.

On the system front, users will now have more control over their home screen layout. There’s a new option to rename app groups by simply touching and holding the shortcut on the home screen. The update also brings improved animations for notifications and Quick Settings, making the overall interaction feel smoother and more polished. OnePlus has also refreshed the design of widgets for Zomato and Blinkit in Shelf, making them clearer and more informative about app statuses.

Music lovers will appreciate the enhancements to Spotify controls within Live Alerts, while folders on the home screen are now resizable—you can drag them to either a 1×2 or 2×1 layout. Additionally, users can now fit five apps in the dock, even if the home screen layout is set to four apps per row. Another noteworthy change is a new setting that lets users adjust the size and appearance of 2×2 third-party widgets for a more consistent look. This can be found under Settings > Home screen & Lock screen > Optimize widget appearance.

Security also sees a meaningful update with the integration of the March 2025 Android security patch, bringing enhanced protection across the system. Moreover, OnePlus has improved the privacy password reset process—users will now be prompted to link their privacy password to their OnePlus account. If the password is forgotten, they can easily reset it using the linked account, ensuring continued access to private data.

On the connectivity side, the update enhances Wi-Fi network switching and mobile data roaming, providing a more seamless experience when moving between networks. Bluetooth headphone compatibility has also been fine-tuned for better performance.

As usual, this is a staged rollout, meaning only a small percentage of users will receive the update today, with a wider release planned over the coming days. The company notes that features and improvements may vary slightly depending on region, so users are advised to check their update settings and stay tuned for more information.
