OnePlus Begins Accepting OxygenOS 15 Open Beta Applications for OnePlus 12 Series in India

OnePlus has announced the commencement of OxygenOS 15 Open Beta testing for its flagship OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R smartphones in India. This follows the successful Closed Beta testing phase for the OnePlus 12, further OnePlus has already revealed the plans for the scheduled rollout of the OxyegenOS 15 Open Beta update.

The Open Beta programme will run from October 30 to November 5, allowing Indian users to experience Android 15-based OxygenOS before its stable release. OnePlus has implemented a streamlined application process, eliminating the review waiting period for a more convenient user experience.

Device Eligibility and Update Process: OnePlus 12 users must be on version CPH2573_14.0.0.850(EX01), while OnePlus 12R users need to be running either CPH2585_14.0.0.832(EX01) or CPH2585_14.0.0.833(EX01). The update process involves:

  1. Going to Settings > Software update
  2. Tapping the icon on the top right > Beta program
  3. Selecting Release candidate and updating

  • Limited daily quotas with new slots released at 12 PM
  • AI features will be gradually integrated in future versions
  • No data loss during installation, though backup is recommended
  • Minimum requirements: 30% battery and 4GB free storage

  3. Perform Local install through About device menu
  4. Follow the extraction and upgrade process Note: This process will erase all device data

Troubleshooting Local Install Issues: If users encounter problems with Local Install, OnePlus recommends:

  1. Disconnecting all networks
  2. Clearing Software update app data
  3. Repeating the upgrade or rollback process with networks disconnected

For users experiencing Local Install button issues, OnePlus has outlined specific steps:

  1. Disconnect Wi-Fi and Mobile data
  2. Navigate to Settings > Apps > App management
  3. Show system apps and clear Software update data
  4. Proceed with networks disconnected
