OPPO Reno 10 Pro and 10 Pro+ Eligible to Receive ColorOS 14 2nd Beta and Official Versions Respectively
Two of OPPO’s Reno 10 series devices in India – the Reno 10 Pro and Reno 10 Pro+ smartphones, are now eligible to receive the Android 14-based ColorOS 14 2nd open beta and official versions respectively.
Here’s more about the new updates
OPPO Reno 10 Pro – ColorOS 14 2nd Open Beta Update
The 2nd open beta program for the Reno 10 Pro smartphone users is only open to 5,000 candidates, and interested users will have to apply to be a part of it. As this is a beta version, users must also keep in mind that the beta update will have both known and unknown issues.
Before applying, it is best advised that users backup their devices to prevent data loss. After updating, the device will also be performing certain actions that may lead to overheating, lagging, battery drainage, and other such issues. Turning off the screen and charging it for a whole night might fix it, or the device will automatically be fixed in a few days. Most importantly, users must also ensure that their device has the latest stable version of ColorOS, and all the application within the device has the latest versions.
About the application process, go to “Settings”, and select “Trial versions” after pressing on the icon at the top-right corner. Click on “Beta” and fill up the required information. Once the application is submitted, it will be reviewed in 5 days, after which the 2nd open beta update will be rolled out if taken into the program. Feedback can be provided via the Feedback app.
OPPO Reno 10 Pro+ – ColorOS 14 Official Update
OPPO announced the official version of the Color 14 last month in November 2023, and about a month later is being made available to the Reno 10 Pro+ users in India. Users will still have to apply to receive the official version, and the registration for it is currently live.
Users must also make sure that their device runs on the latest stable version of the ColorOS custom skin and that all their apps are up to date. This is to avoid any compatibility issues that may arise. On updating, the device will be performing some actions, similar to the 2nd open beta version, leading to heating, lagging, and battery drain. Users may either wait until it gets fixed automatically, or they may turn off the device and charge it for a whole night to fix it.
To apply, visit the device’s “Settings”, tap on the icon at the top-right corner, and click on “Trial versions”. Select “Official version” and search for the update. Download and then install it to integrate the ColorOS 14 official version to the device. Feedback regarding bugs or other issues can be submitted through the Feedback app.
