Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Snapdragon Variant In India Receives April Security Patch

Samsung has announced an April security patch for the Galaxy S21 FE Snapdragon variant in India. The update can be identified by firmware version G990B2XXS6FXD2/G990B2ODM6FXD2/G990B2XXS6FXD2 and has a download size of 318.94MB. The update can easily be downloaded over cellular data as the size of the update is not that big.  The user named Tarun Vats who has shared the screengrab showing the update, mentions in X post to make sure that your device is cool before installing the update.

April security patch is accused of causing green line issues though the company just recently announced the free display replacement to selected models even if it’s out of warranty in India. This has made users calm but also caused unrest among those whose’ smartphone models are not eligible for it.

On one side where companies like Samsung and OnePlus had to come forth to announce free screen replacement for their buyers, Motorola denied it to a user. Recently a user said on X that his Motorola smartphone has developed a line in between the screen despite having no physical damage. Several other Moto G72 users were found saying the same though Motorola thought to handle it differently. And this difference was in its response “If your device is out of warranty, the service center is correct that you would need to pay for a screen replacement as our phones only have a 1-year warranty”. The company might be waiting for a threshold number of reports or might not be willing at all to do so. We will keep you updated about it.
