Tipster claims OneUI 8 could release early as OneUI 7 rollout drags on

There has been a lot of discussion about OneUI 7, mainly because Samsung has yet to roll it out to older Galaxy smartphones. Meanwhile, recently launched in India, the budget-friendly Galaxy F06 5G came with One UI 7 out of the box. Earlier rumours suggested that Samsung might release the stable OneUI 7 update for the Galaxy S24 FE by the end of March. However, new details indicate that Samsung plans to release at least six beta versions of One UI 7, with Beta 4 expected to release today.

Now, a reliable tipster, Ice Universe, has claimed on his official X account that Samsung may release OneUI 8, based on Android 16, sooner than expected. Although he did not provide a specific timeline, the slow rollout of OneUI 7 for older Galaxy smartphones raises concerns. Additionally, rumours suggest that Samsung has canceled OneUI 7.1.

While Ice Universe is a credible source, Samsung has yet to complete the rollout of OneUI 7. So far, only the Galaxy S25 series and the recently launched Galaxy F06 5G run OneUI 7. Several Galaxy A-series smartphones are also expected to launch with OneUI 7 in the coming months.

Samsung may be delaying the update to boost sales of its newer smartphones, but this is just speculation. The company has not officially disclosed the reason for the delay in rolling out One UI 7 to older Galaxy smartphones.
