Vivo officially announced V2 chip to use MediaTek Dimensity 9200 in an event

In a recent conference held by VIVO called “Dual Core X Imaging Technology” in China, it announced its new ISP(Image Signal Processor) called Vivo V2.

The company also revealed that it is working closely with Media Tek. It also said that in the future Vivo phones with Dimensity 9200 will have AI and NPU improvements and new features.

What is this New ISP?

The V2 chip was made by the company itself which is more compatible and has more features. It also has more chip memory, AI computing and image processing.

There will be a dedicated SRAM which is a static RAM cache unit which is capable of reducing max power consumption by more than 99%. – Said a Vivo executive during the conference.

Vivo V2 chip will provide the image processing effect and will be energy efficient due to the near memory FIT and DLA dual core interconnect design.

Vivo’s imaging chip has always been dedicated to fast low light photo capture, and the ultra sharp image quality engine now has Ultra Zoom EIS with IMU, OIS and EIS for better zoom without loosing image quality. – Said a Vivo executive during the conference.

There is also RawEnhance 2.0 based on first version of the image stacking feature that produces HQ photos in low light.

A big topic was Vivo’s partnership with Taiwanese chip maker MediaTek. All future phones will make app switching and background downloads even faster. Thanks to the new transfer of processing from CPU to UFS.

The Dimensity 9200 eye protection should also reduce blue light to less than 5%.

The vivo V2 chip will first arrive on the vivo X90 series. While the vanilla vivo X90 is expected to run on the Dimensity 9200 platform when it actually launches.
