Perth Scorchers bag the the title of winners for BBL 2021-22

The Perth Scorchers have won the Big Bash League 2021-22 (BBL 2021-22 Final). In a one-sided final played at Melbourne’s Docklands Stadium, Perth defeated Sydney Sixers (Perth Scorchers vs Sydney Sixers, Final) by 79 runs. In their first innings, Perth Scorchers scored 171 for 6 in 20 overs, while Sydney Sixers collapsed like a house of cards. With 16.2 overs remaining, the Sydney Sixers were dismissed for just 92 runs. Laurie Evans, who made an unbeaten 76 off 41 balls, was the hero of Perth Scorchers’ victory. The captain Ashton Turner also scored 54 runs in 35 balls. Andrew Tye only took three wickets as a bowler. Among the Sydney Sixers batsmen, Daniel Hughes scored the most runs with 42 runs, while the others flopped.

Now, in the 2021-22 season, they have again won the title. For two years in a row, Perth’s team failed to make the playoffs due to a poor performance in the league stage. Perth was ranked sixth last season, and before that, number eight.
Corona deprived Sydney Sixers of many of their match winners, resulting in them playing in the title match without many match winners. Hayden dismissed the hero of the last match for just two runs. Danian Hughes then played some great shots, but Sydney’s middle order collapsed like a pack of cards. Daniel Hughes also lost his wicket for 42 runs. Perth won the BBL title for the fourth time after throttling Sydney for just 92 runs in 16.2 overs.
