Qualcomm officially announces Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 platform; unlocks 4.3k resolution at 90 fps
Qualcomm unveiled its latest Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 platform last year in the month of September which is said to deliver the best visual experience, intuitive interactions, and better battery efficiency. Well, 2024 has just started and Qualcomm has now announced its next chipset- Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2.

Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2: Features
This latest chipset arrives with support for up to 4.3k by 4.3k display resolution per eye at 90 frames per second. It is said to deliver 15% higher GPU and 20% higher CPU max frequency compared to the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 platform to deliver crisp details with faster frequency rates. It also includes some enhanced capabilities like dynamic foveated rendering, space warp, and game super-resolution for even more immersive 4k graphics. The chipset will be offering 8x better AI performance and 2.5x GPU performance
Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 on-device AI feature supports 12 or more concurrent cameras and dedicated XR acceleration blocks that enable interactions including hand, head, controller, facial expression, depth estimation, and 3D reconstruction. It arrives with up to 12ms video see-through latency and packs up premium MR and VR technology. It supports the latest Qualcomm FastConnect Mobile Connectivity system, ultra-fast WiFi 7, Wifi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3 and 5.2. It also features next-gen Spectra ISP.
It is revealed that Samsung and Google will be providing leading XR experiences by utilizing this newly announced chipset.
