Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 Chipset Said to be in Works; Could be Featured on the POCO F6 Smartphone

It has been reported that the next Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset is in works, and the processor is likely to be featured on an upcoming POCO-branded Xiaomi device.

Here’s more about it.

Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 in Works

Qualcomm introduced its Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset in the first quarter of this year on the 17th of March 2023, and the processor was used on many mid-range smartphones and tablets. Its successor, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 is revealed to be in the works and might soon be unveiled.

It has also been tipped that Xiaomi’s upcoming POCO F6 smartphone may come equipped with this latest Snapdragon SoC. Just to add, the previous POCO F5, which has recently received the Xiaomi HyperOS update, is powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset.

The tipster Digital Chat Station who initially reported the news has also mentioned another chipset with the model number – “SM8635”, which is expected to be a cut-down version of the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor likely with the moniker “Snapdragon 8s Gen 3“. These two upcoming chipsets are also suggested to be made using TSMC’s 4nm process technology.

Regarding the POCO F6 device, nothing much about it is known yet, but the smartphone was attributed with the model numbers – “2311DRK48G” and “2311DRK48I“. The NBTC certification of the POCO X6 Pro 5G had brought clarity to the matter, confirming that the model numbers were not for the POCO F6 smartphone.

With more future updates, we’ll be able to know more about the upcoming Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset and say whether or not it will power the POCO F6 device. Stay tuned until then.
