Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 – GPU Frequency Decreased

This update comes from a Chinese tipster on the Weibo platform(received via @Tech_Reve), who has shared the GPU frequency of the Adreno 750 GPU that will be integrated into the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The GPU frequency has been tipped to be 770MHz.

If we look into a recent update from another Chinese tipster – Digital Chat Station, the tipster stated that the GPU performance had increased by 35%, as per Qualcomm’s official data, along with its CPU frequency.

In previous reports too, it was rumored that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset would likely have a GPU performance clocked at 900MHz(903MHz as pointed out in @Tech_Reve’s tweet).

However, from what is now being said, there has been a notable decrease from before, but still, compared to the GPU frequency of the Adreno 740 GPU(which was clocked at 680MHz), there have been some improvements.

To speak of its(Snapdragon 8 Gen 3’s) CPU frequencies, the primary X4 core has been revealed to be clocked at 3.3GHz. The three A720 cores are clocked at 3.15GHz, the two other A720 cores are clocked at 2.96GHz, and the two A520 base cores are clocked at 2.27GHz, as per the report by DCS.

With its release in a few days, we will be able to know and confirm more about the newly unveiled processor, including its performance specs. Just to add, in the Indian market, the iQOO 12 smartphone that has been tipped to debut in the Chinese market next month, is likely to arrive as the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 smartphone of the country.
