Return to the office or leave the firm, says Elon Musk in a note to Tesla employees
According to a statement addressed to employees that have been circulating on social media, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has ordered employees to return to work or leave the company. The memo goes like this: “Anyone who wishes to do remote work must be in the office for a minimum of 40 hours per week or depart Tesla.” The source, however, did not verify the memo’s validity. Furthermore, neither Tesla nor Elon Musk could be reached.
According to the sources, the billionaire, who has suggested taking Twitter private in a US$44 billion transaction, said they should pretend to work somewhere else in response to the message that was sent from an unverified account. According to the memo, Musk would evaluate and approve any cases where the minimum was not met.
Furthermore, Tesla has joined a growing list of corporations that have made it mandatory for employees to return to work. While some large companies have made voluntary work-from-home arrangements permanent, others, such as Alphabet Inc.’s Google, believe it is ideal to encourage in-person contact between coworkers.
A few days back, as per the sources we came to know that Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal posted in March that the company’s offices would reopen, but that workers may continue to work from home if they so desired. However, he emphasized that no one will be forced to work in the newly opened offices. In October 2020, the company stated that it will allow employees to work from home indefinitely, and Mr. Agrawal reaffirmed that vow in a tweet.
Mr. Agrawal pointed out that such a policy is likely to cause issues. Distributed working, he claims, will be considerably more difficult. In the following months, they will face numerous problems, and they will need to be aggressive, purposeful, gain knowledge, and adjust. Elon is only doing his job, according to some Twitter users. His goal should be to be a strong leader. Leaders must communicate clearly and make their actions more transparent. Leaders must also lead rather than follow their employees.
