The world to see mission NISAR, collaborative mission of NASA and ISRO in early 2024
NASA and ISRO, two of the most important space agencies in the world have presented significant programs in recent times. Now latest developments are bringing to the world a collaborative project between ISRO and NASA. This is the NISAR mission, also labeled as the NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar mission.
Objective of NISAR mission: The mission is planning to do a detailed view of our home planet, Earth. This will be carried out with the launch of an Earth observation satellite. The satellite will enable scientists and researchers to gain insights into forests and wetlands. They will further study the functioning of different ecosystems with more depth. The mission also plans on studying the various domains of natural disasters. The mission aims to study Earth’s global carbon cycle and climate change. The mission further aims to find new ways of resource management and sustainability.
NISAR comes in as the first radar that will map the Earth by using two radar frequencies, the L-band and S-band.
According to reports, the world will see the launch of the NISAR mission in early 2024.
Upon carrying out the various planned research and studies, NISAR will make its data easily accessible to policymakers around the world. With the help of these data, policymakers will be able to look forward to action plans and measures for tackling problems like climate change.
