272 Websites taken down by US and Brazil in a joint effort over illegal copyright music download

Six websites that were allegedly involved in illegal downloads of copyright music have been seized by the US Homeland Security Investigation and the Department of Justice.

The Justice Department said in a press release, “According to court documents, law enforcement identified these six domains as being used to distribute copyrighted material without the authorization of the copyright holders.” They further said, “A law enforcement investigation confirmed that copyright-protected music content was present and available for streaming or downloading on each of these six websites from the Eastern District of Virginia.”

The six domains that were seized by the U.S. authorities had US origins. The websites in question were taken down after a joint investigation that took place. Here are those 6 domains that were allowing illegal download of copyright music Corourbanos.com, Corourbano.com, Pautamp3.com, SIMP3.com, flowactivo.co, and MP3Teca.ws.

According to reports, the websites provided illegal streaming of music content. The copyright infringement of illegal music has cost the Brazilian government to face R$15 billion which is almost $2.8 billion in US dollars.

The joint force has agreed to initiate their fourth edition of an operation that started in 2019 in order to seize cybercrime organizations and infrastructures.
