WhatsApp mobile numbers have been hacked and are currently being sold online.

The 500 million WhatsApp users’ mobile numbers have been hacked and are currently being sold online. According to a report by Cybernews, the database, which is for sale on a well-known hacker platform, comprises the personal data of WhatsApp users from 84 different countries.

According to Security experts, in the absence of a comprehensive set of information, such as names or other identification, leaked databases are frequently bought by cybercriminals.

There’re 32 million US user records in the package, and millions of people from Egypt, Italy, France, the UK, Russia, and India are also there. According to the sources, the US dataset is available for $7,000, and the UK one is available for $2,500.

Cybernews contacted the seller, then he gave 1,097 UK-based phone numbers as evidence. After going through these numbers they identify that they were all from WhatsApp. But the hacker hasn’t said how he got it.
