Belarusian Cyber-Partisans attacked transport infra facilities in Gomel, posts live update on Twitter

Belarusian Cyber-Partisans took to Twitter on Tuesday and updated about Operation “Scorching Heat”. The group posted a thread of four parts with detail updates about the said operation. 

According to the Tweet by the Twitter handle @cpartisans, belonging to Belarusian Cyber-Partisans, they plan on attacking transport infra facilities in Gomel, which supports their dictator today. The post further added that they have noticed holes in the computer systems of the said facility for 2 years. Taking this as an advantage @cpartisans have been polishing their cyber-attack skills, the post stated. 

The second followed up tweet claimed that Cyber-Partisans day celebrations have commenced at the facility. The group gave out free Wi-Fi with the password minisk2020 and claimed that the operation of the internal network was partially paralyzed. The tweet further added that display of patriotic wallpapers on the computers was facilitated. 

The third followed up tweet from the thread informed that the group printed bunch of leaflets which appealed the mass to join the “Kastus Kalinouski Regiment”. This regiment is fighting in Ukraine and the tweet further requested people to join their “Suprativ” movement. The group also claimed that they encrypted data of personnel department, repair & maintenance while deleting the backups. 

The attackers in their final post of the threat asserted that they would provide the encryption key if 10 political prisoners who are in most need of medical care are released. The post was wrapped up with a threat statement that cyber-attacks would keep going on as long as the dictator stays in power and political prisoners are not released. Till then any regime’s department and enterprise is prone to cyber-attack by them.
