Beware of third-party apps they will lead you to lose all your money in the bank
Banks have issued an alert for their customers who operate through their smartphones for different transactions. A new malware has come where hackers hack all the credentials through an unauthorized app gateway. Banking customers are being targeted by a new type of mobile banking malware campaign using SOVA Android Trojan.
As soon as a user logs on to banking apps they steal all your information. This time experts say that SOVA Android updates malware can hack up to 40 banking apps. Several banks — including HDFC Bank, IDBI Bank, and Karur Vysya Bank — have informed their customers or are in the process of issuing advisory regarding the malware. Banking technical experts have made statements through social media platforms that downloading any application other than an authorized source like the play store can end up with no money left in the bank.
Modus Operandi
You will get an email or an SMS with a link and message. As soon as you click on that link that app will be downloaded on your phone. At the end of the day, you will start keeping track of all banking and payment apps on your phone. As soon as you log in, encrypted credentials will be sent to hackers. In the next moment, your money would be sent to the hacker’s account without your permission.
