boAt Lifestyle India faces an alleged data breach, 7.55 million customers database exposed

boAt, an Indian company that deals in a wide range of audio products, recently ran ads online targeting Apple. However, a new report claims an alleged data breach has occurred, compromising the information of 7.55 million( 7,550,000) customers.

The data in question has been posted on the Breach Forums website, a well-known platform for buying and selling these types of databases. The database was posted by a user named “ShopifyGUY”. Upon reviewing the user’s profile on Breach Forum, it was found that he joined the community on March 5, 2024, and this is his first leaked post on the platform.

The total size of the alleged hacked database is around 13.06 GB (Uncompressed). According to “ShopifyGUY”, the database includes email addresses, names, phone numbers, physical addresses, purchases, and website activity. The data in question was breached in March and was uploaded to the platform on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 10:45 PM.

 

We also tried to get an answer from BoAt Lifestyle India, but we didn’t get a response when writing this article. But while searching for their email, I discovered that their mail link was also not hot-linked to the correct email address, and was showing as [email protected](I have attached a screen grab below).
