Delhi AIIMS server hacked, Hackers now demanding $200 MN in crypto

According to a report by PTI, the Delhi AIIMS hospital data server has been hacked and is down for about 6 days in a row now. AIIMS is one of the biggest hospitals in India which is run by the government of India.

The report further states that hackers are now demanding $200 MN in ramson money. They are asking it to be paid in Cryptocurrency.

As the servers are out of order, the biggest hospital in the country is doing work manually at this time. Most of the work like patient care services in an emergency, outpatient, inpatient, and laboratory wings is managed manually.

The Delhi police have swiftly taken action by registering an FIR in the matter. The Delhi Police’s Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) cell filed a First Information Report against unknown persons, invoking sections of the IT Act (section 66F), while teams from the NIC and Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) are attempting to restore the network.
