FBI says China-made Huawei communication line tried to steal sensitive data of the US atomic bomb

According to the US intelligence agency, the FBI the Chinese company Huawei’s communication equipment could be using the messaging app to capture sensitive data regarding the US nuclear bomb. The FBI is rather confident that Huawei is using spy tools to steal and influence confidential data related to the US Ministry of Defense. They also stated that the Chinese communication media included messages from the US Strategic Command that is responsible for supervising the research related to the atomic bomb.

The FBI said that Chinese intruders involved in several cases of espionage have increased many folds over the past decade. Reportedly federal officials have been carrying on investigations on several Chinese land purchase cases near critical infrastructures, closing a high-profile regional consulate related to Chinese spies, building stone walls, and manipulating hearing devices by several Chinese spies since 2017.

FBI has also stated that the most shocking discovery was Chinese-made Huawei equipment capable of intercepting the communication line between the Defense Department and Strategic Commands, from the top of cell towers near the US military bases in the rural Midwest. The US Strategic Command has been involved in supervising the research related to nuclear weapons.

However, the FBI didn’t reveal whether the spies successfully steal any data or not but attempts were surely made to send data back to Beijing from the cell towers. They have also attempted to intercept commercial cell traffic. An FBI official said, “It’s one of the most sensitive things we can do,” including gaining control of the nuclear triad.
