Honda halts operation in India and Brazil due to Cyber Attack

Honda plants in Brazil and India have ended activities as the Japanese carmaker fights to recoup from a cyber attack that influenced a few production lines around the world.

The cyberattack toward the start of the week focused on Honda’s inside servers and spread infection through the organization’s frameworks, a representative told AFP on Wednesday.

Cruiser plants in India and Brazil were still down and out after the assault, while a four-wheel vehicle plant in Turkey continued procedure on Wednesday, the representative said.

The firm was “all the while researching subtleties”, she said.

Altogether, the digital assault influenced 11 Honda plants – remembering five for the US, as per neighborhood media reports.

All US plants have continued activities, the representative stated, declining to expand further.

She said the suspension would have just a restricted effect on Honda’s business all around.

Worldwide automakers including Honda have just been hit hard by a droop in deals due to the new coronavirus pandemic.

A month ago, Honda announced a 25.3-percent fall in net benefit from the earlier year as deals dropped six percent to JPY 14.9 trillion (generally Rs. 10.45 lakh crores) in the financial year finishing off with March.
