1. Two-Step Verification
Enabling this feature on WhatsApp can prevent users from unauthentic remote access. To enable the Two-step verification feature the user can tap Settings then go to Account and simply click on Two-step verification.
A six-digit pin will be generated to enable this feature. This 6-digit pin has to be inserted every time someone tries to attack any WhatsApp account remotely and without the pin, scammers can not access it.
2. Never Share 6-Digit Registration Code
It is recommended that the user must not share the 6-digit registration code that is received via SMS.
3. Disappearing Messages
WhatsApp has announced that they will recently enable a Disappearing message feature. This feature is applicable both in personal and group chats. This feature will automatically remove messages sent to any individual or group after seven days. However, this feature won’t erase past messages before it was enabled.
4. Privacy
WhatsApp will let any user change their settings to specific. The users can change their status, photo, and other details to “Contacts Only.” Enabling this setting will let the user share their information only with their contact.
If the user wishes to remove someone from seeing their status update, they can simply use the “Hide” option and insert the name.
5. Face ID or Touch ID Protection
WhatsApp has enabled Face ID protection for iPhone users and Fingerprint or Touch ID protection option for Android users. To enable these features the user simply needs to tap Settings then Account then select Privacy and Screen Lock.
6. Report Spam
If the user has identified any spam account on their WhatsApp, they can simply Block or Report Spam for further protection. The Report spam feature has been enabled in recent years heightening the security of the instant messaging app to the next level.
