Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is a new feature for Android and iOS that protects enterprise networks
Microsoft introduced a new feature named Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE) which will help organizations to detect vulnerabilities in Android and iOS devices within their enterprise networks.
Previously the tech giant introduced the Mobile Network Protection feature for Android and iOS devices in order to protect transferable stored information and now with this new feature, Microsoft will provide end-to-end security protection from rough Wi-Fi threats and rough certificates. MDE is also equipped to notify the user whenever it spots unsecured or suspicious networks or open Wi-Fi networks.
According to Microsoft, “As the world continues to make sense of the digital transformation, networks are becoming increasingly complex and provide a unique avenue for nefarious activity if left unattended.” The company has also provided configuration on network protection on Android and iOS devices from MDE’s Admin center.
The company also stated that it provides a complete single security solution to the devices. Reportedly, the company has updated its MDE version on iOS with zero-touch onboarding capabilities by allowing the admin to download Defender for Endpoint. After a month the company announced the general availability of the MDE for Android and iOS for threat and vulnerability management.
Microsoft mentioned that MDE supports cross-platform coverage from threats and vulnerabilities and now will be available on all devices across organizations. The organizations don’t have to look for other security solutions but can avail MDE facilities on their workstations, servers, mobile devices, and several others.
The tech giant also claimed the MDE feature will allow the admin to “contain” the threat on the compromised device and prohibit them from moving through the network.
