Mysten Labs, the creator of the Sui blockchain, has been hacked on Discord
According to a Saturday post from Sui blockchain designers Mysten Labs, their Discord server has been hijacked. It advises visitors not to click on any links put on the server in the eight hours preceding its Twitter message and says the team is trying to remedy the problem. According to an unverified screenshot shared on Twitter, hackers put a link to a rumored airdrop on the server’s announcement channel.
Sui blockchain, a permissionless proof-of-stake blockchain, was introduced in March as Mysten Labs’ first offering.
Evan Cheng, Sam Blackshear, Adeniyi Abiodun, and George Danezis, four former developers from Meta’s crypto section Novi, launched Mysten Labs, a web3 infrastructure firm. They were formerly involved with the Diem blockchain and the Move programming language.
Andreessen Horowitz and Coinbase Ventures are among the company’s prominent investors. It raised $36 million in December and said in July that it was targeting a $2 billion valuation.
