NetBlocks confirms massive cyberattack on Vinasterik Network in Ukraine

NetBlocks is a monitoring group that keeps an eye on cybersecurity and Internet regulation. In 2017, the service was launched to track internet freedom. Alp Toker, a Turkish national, started it. Turkey Blocks was also founded by him.

A recent tweet by Netblocks, confirms that a massive cyberattack has been laid on Vinasterik Network in Ukraine. Vinasterik Network is a major internet provider in Vinnytsia oblast a city in Ukraine.

The Vinasterisk network, which covers Vinnytsia Oblast in western Ukraine, experienced a massive internet outage on Sunday, March 13th. A member of the operator’s staff posted on social media about a large cyberattack that included elements of sabotage and theft.

Russia and Ukraine have both been hit with cyberattacks. While Russia has their state-owned assets to attack Ukraine. Anonymous has come in complete support of Ukrainians.
