New trend is evolving among ransomware gang

There is an upsurge of a new trend among ransomware. Here, they prioritize their attack making it personal, and then later pressure and extort companies’ top brass to lure money.

If you too find any of this malware strain, stop right away! Audit all systems immediately.

These ransomware gangs have evolved their method of functioning. These groups steal sensitive data and then leave ransom notes on the trashed computer demanding a huge amount of money.

According to the victims- they have got ransom notes demanding fees only then they will get the decryption key and in some cases, they bullied saying if they didn’t give them money, they may publish the stolen data online.

However, it may not be true always.

Bill Siegel, the CEO, and co-founder of security firm Coveware, said that in many cases, the data used in these extortion schemes aimed at a company’s management aren’t always truthful or living up to expectations.

They may outwit the victims to extort money. They may put up that they have got the sensitive data but this may not be the case always.

There have been cases where the stolen data was evidence of personal malfeasance.

Take precautions, they will attempt all sorts of tactics if it brings them money.
