Phoenix, a pro-Russian hacktivist collective, unites with Killnet in targeting Japan

Killnet had claimed that they have been targeting the Japan’s government websites with the distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks from several days. And now, according to cyberknow, Phoenix, a pro-Russian hacktivist group has also joined the Killnet for attacking the websites in Japan according to Cyberknow.

Accordingly, Killnet has been cyberattacking the nations for several months who supported Ukraine. The collective has also tried to interrupt the Eurovision song contest in which the Russia was banned due to the war.

Accordingly, Killnet has targeted around 23 government websites, including the country’s digital agency and education ministry. The collective has also claimed that they have breached the websites of Tokyo’s subway and port of Nagoya. The collective has said that it has been attacking Japan for supporting Ukraine and disagreements over the Kuril Islands.

Phoenix has also been involved in the hardware hacking, unlocking stolen or lost iPhones and reselling them in Kyiv and Kharkiv through a network of controlled stores. For more than two years, the collective has claimed that they have targeted around hundreds of victims.
