South Korean government’s YouTube channel got hacked and shared Elon Musk’s crypto-related videos

A South Korean government-owned YouTube channel was reportedly hacked and renamed SpaceX Invest, after which the channel posted fabricated videos of Elon Musk discussing cryptocurrencies.

On September 3, the South Korean government’s YouTube channel was briefly hacked and renamed in order to share live broadcasts of cryptocurrency-related videos. However, the account was quickly restored after a proactive intervention, according to a local report from Yonhap News Agency (YNA).

The above screenshot was provided to YNA by a location, and it shows the compromised channel renamed SpaceX Invest and streaming videos of SpaceX CEO Elon Musk. The compromised YouTube channel ID and password were identified as the root cause of the hack. Google, too, is said to have confirmed the compromise.

Binance conducted an internal investigation to track down the perpetrators of a recent hack that drained $265,000 in user funds from KyberSwap.

Binance CEO Changpeng ‘CZ’ Zhao revealed that the security team at Binance identified two suspects and forwarded the information to KyberSwap and law enforcement. “Binance is now acting as a big brother in the crypto space.” “Binance has gone beyond securing its platform to securing the entire crypto ecosystem,” a Crypto Twitter user noted.
