Textile company Sferra announced discovery of compromised data of their individuals
Sferra Fine Linens, a textile company that designs and sells Italian-made luxury linen products, announced on Friday about a cybersecurity breach incident that involved personal information of individuals. It stated that it has started notifying individuals about the incident.
The discussed personal information includes names, addresses, birth dates, passport information, driver’s license data, Social Security numbers, financial account information, medical and/or health insurance data, electronic/digital signatures and account credentials.
Sferra employees seems to be the primary victims of the compromised data. The company, however, has not made any statement about the total number of employees impacted by the incident.
The Company also asserted that this event doesn’t include data breach or leak of the information retained in Sferra’s e-commerce platforms and e-commerce systems.
Along with this, it is still in the dark, if it was a ransomware gang, who launched the attack. Authorities like SecurityWeek has looked into leak websites of major groups and has not discovered any mention of Sferra.
Sferra mentioned that the incident came to their notice on April 24. Additionally they asserted that the threat actors was sitting with access to their servers two weeks prior to the discovery.
The founders formed Sferra in the year 1981. Their products include luxury sheets, table linens, bedding collections and decorative home accessories.
