Why The Evil Corp’s sanction is necessary for all of us?

The cybercrime group named The Evil Corp has currently disposed of LockBit ransomware for the targeted networks, websites, and users. LockBit ransomware is malicious software that is developed to block the access of the user to their personal computer system. Then the user has to pay a certain ransom asked by the cybercrime group in return for full autonomy of their computer’s system.

The Evil Corp group has been famous for developing the Dridex malware, and now switching to a ransomware corp. They faced the U.S. Treasury Department’s sanction in 2019 for using the malware Dridex which is responsible for resulting in damages of over 100 Million Dollars. In June 2020 they deployed WestedLocker ransomware.

The LockBit ransomware collects crucial information from the users, such as login from web browsers, messaging platforms, FTP clients, and cryptocurrency wallets. The ransomware can put an end to the security solutions of the infected machine. They can appear as harmless DLL files with any app or software program installation to be stored in the system.

The Evil Corp sanction is necessary so that they don’t collect more data with the help of their malicious tools in order to have enough free resources to develop some new ransomware strain.
