Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC configuration revealed, will have two Phoenix cores and six Phoenix M cores

Qualcomm has not yet launched the much-awaited Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and rumors around its successor Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC have already begun to rise. Qualcomm will launch the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in October of this year while Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC will come next year.

A tipster named Digital Chat Station that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset will be based on TSMC’s new 3nm process node. Tipster also revealed that this chipset will have two Phoenix cores and six Phoenix M cores. As far as Phoenix cores are concerned they are a new generation of ARM-based CPU cores designed by Nuvia.

This is similar to Apple’s A series of SoCs whose configuration is like two performance and six power-efficiency cores.

The tipster mentioned that this chipset will be manufactured on TSMC’s N3E process which is said to be the second iteration of the TSMC 3nm process node. As of now, there is no such report on which smartphone will be powered by this new chipset but it won’t be wrong to say brands will try to incorporate it in their flagship phones as soon as it arrives.
