TATA IPL Mega Auction 2022: Pat Cummins picked up by Lucknow Super Giants for 7 Crore 25 lakhs
While Pat Cummins sparked bids from Gujrat Titans and Chennai Super Kings, just as Kolkata Knight Riders appeared set to secure the quick, Lucknow super giants entered the contest and increased his price to 7 Crore 25 Lakhs.
As a fast bowler, he is one of the best in the world, he can hit a long ball down the order, and his confidence is high after leading Australia to a recent win in the Ashes. Cummins is sure to be highly sought after. The Kolkata Knight Riders bid a staggering Rs 15.5 crore on his services in the IPL 2020 auctions. In addition to his experience, the 28-year-old would add great value to any bowling attack.
Cummins played for Delhi Daredevils in 2017 and was signed by Mumbai Indians for the 2018 season, but was unable to play for them after suffering a back injury. Cummins has played 17 IPLs till date taking 38 wickets at the rate of 30.13.
Cummins was in the bracket with the highest base price – Rs 2 crore – and he may go for a lot more than that.
