Rahul Tewatia was bought for 9 crores by Gujarat Giants . The chase for him was tough as he is another uncapped player who is whopping a huge amount this season. Gujarat Giants were able to battle down Chennai Super Kings.
Tewatia has been playing in the league for seven seasons now. He wasn’t a regular starter in the first five years. Yet it was against Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in the 2020 edition that he truly made his mark. The highest total in the history of the IPL was chased down by Rajasthan Royals as Tewatia hit five sixes off West Indies pacer Sheldon Cotterell as the Royals needed 51 off 18. Both with the bat and ball, he finished with a batting average of 42.50 and took 10 wickets from 14 matches at 32.60 with an impressive economy rate of 7.08.
